This showroom signaled the change of guard for Sleek Kitchens. The identity of the new parent company, Asian Paints, needed to be integrated into their way forward.
The brief was to create a prototype for the new Sleek Kitchens by Asian Paints showroom country wide; and provide design guidelines for the new signature look of their showrooms.
The signature look of this prototype showroom included the Turkish Grey stone flooring, the metal grid ceiling demarcating the displayed kitchen, lighting targeted towards the display, exposed ceiling painted grey, wiring in cable trays for flexibility and change.
The wardrobes are displayed in a distinct part of the showroom following the norms of the parent company: It has a carpeted floor, product display, sample display, client consultation area with specific furniture and lighting.
The Staff Office got the same level of attention to design as the display areas but had its own distinct identity. The table-top was in finger-jointed teak-wood panels, cabinets in black PU paint, the drawer cabinet below in SS cradle and black PU finish. The stone floor and LED lights continue in this space.
The Branding wall becomes an identifier of the company and its logo in every showroom like the product display. SS backlit letters on an exposed brick wall highlights the factory-finish product on the rough surface, just like the modular kitchens on the stone flooring. The feature wall at the entry made of tawas (traditional griddle) with the company logo stuck on it, is a juxtaposition of the traditional and the modern (factory-made kitchens).
